CHASING VERMEER III

In the beginning, I was always wearing blinders and thinking that people who received the letters are sooner or later going to be involved in this crime. I was very suspicious about Ms. Sharpe lately but she was only a widow whose husband was a Vermeer scholar and so she had much interest in his art.
Later towards the end, Calder and Petra are so engrossed in protecting The Lady Writing that they are flooded on knowing so many clues and connections with the help of a book called Lo! by Charles Fort, Calder's pentominoes, and The Lady from the painting in Petra's dreams, some major intuition, the children discover that the painting is most likely in their school premises. After searching several buildings, they intuitively decide that the best place for the painting to be hidden would be in Delia Dell Hall, a beautiful old building with many dark wood storage places whose many details resemble those in Vermeer's painting.
After searching for hours in the hall, they find the painting hidden in a wall in a dark and old stairwell, Calder and Petra run for their lives as the red alarm screams behind them. Soon they realize that they are being followed by a huge man, who they later come to know is Fred. Through Calder's bravery, Petra is able to escape the chasing man but soon looses the painting as she a police officer search for Calder. Once again, through intuition, Petra reclaims the painting and finds Calder injured in a tree house.
Finally, at the end of the story, the author explains and gives many clues and coincidences found in this book. The book ends as the painting is restored to the museum, the crime against Vermeer described in the beginning of the book is rectified and the children and others are safe.  The author also narrates Xavier Glitts also disguised as Fred Steadman's goal and intention to have done so.
So, the narrative finally ends with all things good and the author narrating the clues and various other connections Petra and Calder found while rectifying this crime.
